Utilizing Rockstar's proprietary Rockstar Advanced Game Engine (RAGE), Red Dead Redemption features an open-world environment for players to explore, including frontier towns, rolling prairies teaming with wildlife, and perilous mountain passes - each packed with an endless flow of varied distractions. Along the way, players will experience the heat of gunfights and battles, meet a host of unique characters, struggle against the harshness of one of the world's last remaining wildernesses, and ultimately pick their own precarious path through an epic story about the death of the Wild West and the gunslingers that inhabited it. Red Dead Redemption is releasing on April 27, 2010 for the PS3 and Xbox 360.
In the world of espionage, nothing is as it seems in Obsidian Entertainment's RPG thriller, Alpha Protocol. Players will assume the role of Michael Thorton, a highly skilled - yet inexperienced - government operative trained to eliminate threats to national security. When a mission goes horribly wrong, Thorton is the only one with the information, skills, and audacity to stop an impending international catastrophe. To do so, he will utilize the very government directive that the enemy sought to use to against him - Alpha Protocol. Set in modern day, Alpha Protocol gives players complete control not only of Thorton's actions but his personality and attitude as well, all of which will determine the future of the world as we know it. Blending fast-paced modern combat, significant character advancement and innovative RPG features, Alpha Protocol brings a fresh new perspective to the genre. The game is being released by SEGA for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on June 1, 2010. This Super Mario Galaxy 2 trailer was shown at the Nintendo Media Summit event in February 2010, revealing several gameplay sequences with Mario's not-so-epic mount Yoshi - who is making a return in this sequel, which Nintendo will be releasing for their Wii console on May 24, 2010 in North America, and June 11, 2010 in Europe. Napoleon: Total War, the new chapter in The Creative Assembly's series of historical strategy games, opens up a new narrative layer to the genre-defining franchise. From the early Italian campaign to the Battle of Waterloo, Napoleon covers two decades of relentless battles, a backdrop of a world in flames against which the story of an extraordinary military career unfolds. Whether you play as the legendary General or against, the outcome of war can never be guaranteed. The course of history relies on your ability to lead your troops through the most intense battles as never seen before in a Total War game. Napoleon also features fully integrated multiplayer modes and a complete set of online functionalities: Steam achievements, gameplay bonuses, uniform editor and voice communications. The game was released by SEGA on February 26, 2010. The 2010 sci-fi shooter game Aliens vs. Predator was developed by the same team reasponsible for the original 1999 classic at studio Rebellion, once again giving players the chance to take the role of the three infamous species: the Colonial Marine, the Predator and the Alien. Each of the three species has its very own distinct story-driven single-player campaign mode that interweaves with the campaigns of the other two species. Aliens vs. Predator also features unique 3-way online multiplayer, allowing gamers to pit the three species against each other in the ultimate battle for survival and for the right to be crowned the deadliest species. The game was released by SEGA for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on February 16, 2010. The classic NES JRPG titles Final Fantasy I and Final Fantasy II were re-released by Square Enix for the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad on the iTunes App Store, on February 25, 2010. This debut teaser for Vanquish was revealed earlier this year, hinting at a sci-fi action / shooter game that's currently in development at PlatinumGames Inc., and having Shinji Mikami (creator of the Resident Evil / Biohazard series) credited as its mastermind. Okami producer Atsushi Inaba is also involved in the project, which SEGA will be publishing for currently-undisclosed platforms. The PS3 and/or Xbox 360 consoles would be good guesses, though. As for the game's story, the trailer hints at an orbital attack on the United States, with some 432,000 people evacuated from the point of impact. Star Ocean 4: The Last Hope takes place a few hundred years before the first Star Ocean game. With a more team-oriented battle system featuring 4 party members, the game will have a more sci-fi theme than past titles, with the ability to control your own ship - which will be able to land on at least 5 planets or other space-based destinations. The hero's name is Edge Maverick, while the heroine is named Reimi Saionji. Super Street Fighter IV is the 2010 iteration of Capcom's ass-kicking franchise, building upon the previous chapter Street Fighter IV with some 10 new punchable characters, including comebacks from the classic games, as well as a new character named Juri. She is a South Korean chick who works for Seth's organization, S.I.N., and uses Taekwondo as her fighting style along with an energy-boosting device implanted inside her left eye called the "Feng Shui Engine". SSF4 is releasing for the PS3 and Xbox 360 on April 28, 2010 in Japan, and also around that same date in North America and Europe. Final Fantasy XIII brings a tale of souls from a futuristic civilization illuminated by the Light of the Crystal. To celebrate the 13th title in the series, Square Enix has undertaken a colossal project involving the development of various content for multiple platforms. Fabula Nova Crystallis, defined in Latin as "the new tale of the crystal", is made up of several different titles based on variations of the Final Fantasy XIII universe. However, while each title in the project features different characters, different worlds, and different stories, all are ultimately based on and expand upon a common mythos. The PlayStation 3 version of Final Fantasy XIII was released in Japan on December 17, 2009, followed by the North American and European release (for both the PS3 and Xbox 360) on March 9, 2010. |
