The Xbox 360 & PS3 sequel The Idolm@ster 2 is set two years after Namco Bandai's original music (-management) game, and begins with the girls having already made their professional debut. The player's goal is to pick a unit of three idols (from a dozen or so to choose from) and make them a national hit. The game was released in Japan on February 24, 2011 for the Xbox 360, and on October 27, 2011 for the PlayStation 3.
