Silent Heroes To Follow Soldiers: Heroes of World War II

Paradox Interactive's latest announcement brings word that they have signed the follow-up to Codemasters' Soldiers: Heroes of World War II strategy game from 2004. The standalone expansion is to be called Silent Heroes, and will be released in early September at a suggested retail price of $19.99. Already available in Russia and Poland, Silent Heroes is developed by Russian studio 1C:Maddox, based on the same "Heroes" engine that was used for the original title.

In this follow-up, the player once again takes control of a special operations force during World War II, having at his disposal a vast choice of weapons and dozens of controllable equipment models.

"'Silent Heroes' is a natural progression for any followers of in-depth and challenging RTS games", said Fredrik Wester, Director of Publishing at Paradox Interactive. "The game builds on the innovative gameplay from its predecessor, incorporating the best features of the famous tactical war action."

No Silent Heroes visuals were supplied by Paradox so far, just this brief list of features:

- Dozens of controllable equipment models, a vast choice of fire-arms, small arms, cold steel and more.

- Highly interactive environments (almost everything seen can be destroyed).

- A story-driven campaign focusing on sabotage missions behind enemy lines.

- Opportunities to use any items and objects on the map as shelter.

- Chances for players to seize, use and repair any pieces of equipment, including enemy ones.

- Up-to-date detailed graphics, cinema effects and high quality videos.
