This was certainly bound to happen! Ever since we heard about the revolutionary Wii controller, we couldn't stop dreaming about a Star Wars game that truly captures the frantic feel of a lightsaber battle. And obviously we weren't the only ones, as many other Wii fans asked - ney, demanded LucasArts to make their dream come true. Rumour has it that such a game is indeed in the making over at Lucas' for the Nintendo Wii console, complete with lightsaber battles.

When you think about the Wiimote's lightsaberish design, motion sensors, rumble feature, built-in speaker, and then you add them all up... Well, I don't know about you, but I see the perfect controller for the job right there. Menacing sounds as your Wiimote splits the air, electrifying rumblings as it clashes with your opponent's, and an out-Forced friend eventually crumbling at your feet - that, my friends, is a perfect example of the proverbial "coolness" (or "sugoi", as they say in the land of the rising Wii).

It may all be speculation for the time being, but it's an opportunity that LucasArts is sure to jump on, if they haven't done so already - as the latest EGM issues insinuates. And it doesn't stop here, claiming that a next-gen Star Wars: Battlefront project is in progress (though not developed by Pandemic any more), and that several other third-party companies are shifting their projects onto the Wii, abandoning Sony's costly PlayStation 3 platform.

The Wii is strong with this one!
