Some five and a half years after it was (co-)founded by Age of Empires (co-)creator Brian Sullivan, Iron Lore Entertainment has finally finished work on its first project: the mythological Action-RPG Titan Quest. Publisher THQ announced that the game has reached the gold master stage of development and is entering manufacturing, with worldwide retail shippings scheduled to begin on June 26, 2006.
In Titan Quest, gamers will quest through fabled locations such as the Parthenon, the Great Pyramids, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon and the Great Wall of China, to save humanity from terrifying monsters, mythical beasts and the evil Titans who have escaped their eternal prisons. The game features a deep single player and co-operative multiplayer game experience with an epic story written by award-winning screenwriter Randall Wallace (Braveheart, The Man in the Iron Mask).
For those who missed it last month during that whole E3 madness, a Titan Quest demo is already available, featuring the first two quests from the game's epic storyline, as well as three skill masteries to choose from, out of the eight planned for the final version.
