Though still far from the "Duke Nukem Forever" syndrome (also known as the "S.T.A.L.K.E.R." syndrome), SEK's jurassic strategy game ParaWorld has suffered yet another delay. From its previous August 2006 launch window, the title was pushed back to early September. This change of plans was announced by developer Thomas Langhanki, in an interview with Strategy Informer which also reveals that a demo version of the game will be available around the release.

"Rest assured that there's going to be a demo. And the game can market itself a lot better than I ever could! That's what I'm sure of. One simply needs to play it to really understand some of the new features.

So, there's going to be demo some time around the release. And in the meantime you might want to check out the latest news on our very own website and over at the official ParaWorld website. We put up new content almost every day and you can find some more details regarding some of ParaWorld's features."

Thomas also talks about ParaWorld's three multiplayer modes (Deathmatch, Domination and Defender), the editors included with the game (level editor and sequence editor, "which comes in handy for singleplayer-focused mods since you can create extensive cutscenes"), and claims that the hardest part of the development so far was the so called "Army Controller". Read the whole thing if you want to know just what on earth that means.

A closed beta test should also be in place soon, but we'll have to wait and see just how public it's actually going to be.
