Countdown To Develop Conference and Expo 2006 // UPDATE
With E3 now behind us, people in the industry are turning their heads over to Brighton, where Europe's largest conference and expo for the games creative community is set to take place during the week of July 10th (11-13 July 2006). Under the banner of "Develop Conference and Expo", the conference will cover every aspect of the creative and technical process as well as the business of making games, and will feature industry luminaries such as Ken Perlin, Peter Molyneux, Tetsuya Mizuguchi, Marty O'Donnell, Andrew Oliver, Miles Jacobson, Jonathan Smith, Paulina Bozek, Ernest Adams and Simon Carter to name just a few, from over 70 speakers taking part in 47 sessions across the three days.
In addition to the conference, over 30 companies - listed below - will be taking part in an expo with products and services designed specifically for the development community. Also, there will be an IGDA workshop, a Develop Mobile conference, a Serious Games Workshop, GamesEdu - a day long event dedicated to the educational community involved with games related courses - and a Developer Day sponsored by ATI.
The social highlight of the week will be the Develop Magazine Industry Excellence Awards night held on Wednesday 12th.

UPDATE: MCV notes that the Develop Conference & Expo has been extended by an extra day, after more exhibitors and another major sponsor signed up for the event. ATi is the latest big name partner, extending the event to a Graphics Day on the Friday. The week now comprises Develop Mobile and a delegate IceBreaker Party (Tuesday July 11th), the Conference & Expo and Develop Industry Excellence Awards (Wednesday July 12th), a second day of Conference & and Expo (Thursday July 13th) and finally an education day, GamesEdu, and the ATI Graphics Day (Friday July 14th).
