Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars - First Screenshots

Last month's teasing artwork and scans are now followed by the first three official screenshots released by Electronic Arts, for the eagerly anticipated strategy sequel, Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars! A couple of urban environments and a coastal build-up of forces is all we get to see for the time being, until we get our hands on the game's E3 presentation trailer.

It's been quite a long time since the last C&C Tiberium title, so expect to see plenty of advancement, both in technology and in gameplay. For one thing, VoIP will finally be supported in multiplayer games, and as for the graphics - well just take a look at those screenies; they may not be too diverse, but I guess that's to be expected from such a cataclysmic scenario:

"It is 2047 and the stakes could not be higher. Tiberium-a self-replicating alien substance that has infected the Earth-is spreading like a radioactive ice age. The GDI, a high-tech alliance of the world's most advanced nations, is fighting to contain Tiberium, but Kane, the megalomaniacal leader of The Brotherhood of NOD has other plans for Earth. Kane's secret society turned superpower is bent on using Tiberium to take control and transform humanity into his twisted vision of the future. All-out war rages over Tiberium and the fate of the planet rests in the balance."

Don't hold your breath for this one until sometime in 2007.
