| Remedy's psychological action thriller is back at E3 this year, after a surprise appearance at ATi's booth in 2005. But this time around, there's no more PlayStation 3 version waiting in the pipeline, as Microsoft has announced that they'll be publishing Alan Wake exclusively for the PC and Xbox 360 - and letting Sony have a piece of the action is obviously not an option.
In this promising new title, gamers assume the role of Alan Wake, a best-selling suspense author who escapes to a small town to recover from the mysterious disappearance of his fiancée. Set in the deceptively idyllic town of Bright Falls, the game immerses players in an intense and expansive cinematic world that enables players to roam freely in hyper-realistic, dynamic and interactive environments. Alan Wake is mission-based with a deeply engaging and suspenseful story line unveiling new twists and profound character revelations at every turn. Players will unravel the riveting plot through multilayered character interactions, unique problem-solving and intense combat against terrifying enemies. In this nightmarish world, Alan Wake must use a variety of weapons to survive, including his most powerful ally against the creatures of darkness - light itself.
There's no set release date for now, but we do have a bunch of new screenshots and a spooky E3 2006 trailer ready for download (66 MB) or streaming!
