Grand Theft Auto IV Officially Coming To PS3 And Xbox 360

Predictable? Sure enough. Last month's rumours were once again bringing into discussion a full-fledged sequel for Rockstar Games' controversial series, and now we have the official confirmation for the new Grand Theft Auto IV game, coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. There's no PC version for the time being unfortunately, but then again we're kind of getting us that by now...

The game's development remains to be handled by the Rockstar North studio (DMA Design), with a tentative release date set for October 16, 2007 in North America, and October 19, 2007 in Europe. No details whatsoever about GTA IV were given in Rockstar's announcement, and it seems that the only guy more willing to talk is Microsoft's Peter Moore - who in a separate press release is overly-joyous about their fantastic achievement, of securing a Xbox 360 release for Grand Theft Auto IV straight from day one of its global release [on the PlayStation 3].

"Few franchises have had the profound impact on our industry as Grand Theft Auto", said Peter Moore, corporate vice president of the Interactive Entertainment Business in the Entertainment and Devices Division at Microsoft. "Gamers can't wait to play Grand Theft Auto IV in high definition on Xbox 360, and we couldn't be more excited to have the title on our platform from day one."
