Something's wrong with the world today, I tell you: gamers are singing instead of playing; singers are switching to acting; while actors would go as far as to eat their fiancé's placenta. So it's no wonder that the Japanese are still mad about Dance Dance Revolution, or that one of last year's surprises was a game called Guitar Hero - which won several awards for innovation and game design, among others. And if Dance'uu Dance'uu Revolution'uu had its fair share of editions (dozens of them), it was only natural for the producers of Guitar Hero to announce at least a sequel. Which they did: Guitar Hero II will be revealed next month at E3, and is already promising over 55 rock songs (classic rock, 'hair' metal, heavy metal, modern rock, and alternative, to be more specific), as well as full compatibility with the "Guitar Hero SG Controller" that came with the original game.
"Picking up where Guitar Hero left off, Guitar Hero II arrives with a new track list, new venues and additional play modes - including the ability to transform the original Guitar Hero SG Controller into a rhythm, lead or bass guitar."
Those interested should mark November 2006 in their agendas, as the tentative release date announced by RedOctane for Guitar Hero II.
