| Crysis A PC Exclusive, No Next-Gen Console Version
Who would've thought that during a time when most headlines are firmly held by "next-gen" stories, some developer would actually have the nerve of making a game as visually impressive as Crysis exclusively for the PC, especially since its publisher Electronic Arts are well known for porting their titles on every single console they can think of. And yet, according to CVG it's true: the Germans from Crytek are currently ruling out any console version for their Crysis FPS, even though its graphics engine (CryEngine 2) has always been presented as "next-gen" up until now. In response to this issue, Cevat Yerli (Crytek CEO) had this to say:
"It crossed our minds, but we're sticking with PC. One thing about our company is that we want to focus, we don't want to do multiple things, we want to do one thing and do it well. PC is our focus right now, we were born there and we want to showcase what we can do there, before we made any move onto consoles."
I wonder how EA is dealing with all this...
