Quake 4 - Download Patch v1.1 // UPDATE #2 - teh bug!
Although it hasn't been officially announced on the id Software website yet, today we have what appears to be the final version of the Quake 4 v1.1 patch, tucked inside a 117 MB archive - double than what the Beta version of the same patch had at the end of February, but for the time being without any details regarding the latest changes brought. So until an official announcement is made, we'll just list the previous Beta patch notes:
"The [v1.1 Beta] update fixes issues and adds gameplay elements throughout both single and multiplayer, including voice chat in multiplayer, a forecemodel option, a one-minute warning for tournament matches, fixed pure server autodownloading, Hyper-Threading Technology support, smooth stairjumping and a ton of multiplayer specific fixes which have been requested by the community and discovered during our own gameplay."
The Quake 4 v1.1 patch is available for download locally.
UPDATE: Mystery solved: "this release adds voice chat in multiplayer, a forcemodel option, a one-minute warning for tournament matches, numerous multiplayer enhancements and fixes, general and single-player improvements, and lots more, along with two new DM maps called Outpatient and Skeleton Crew as well as a pair of CTF levels titled Mind the Gap and Double Edged. The patch has been additionally ballooned by including last December's Quakemas map pack." [28.03.2006, 23:18]
UPDATE #2: Why am I not surprised!? Obviously the QA guys from Activion messed up again (the first Quake 4 demo wasn't all safe and sound, as you might remember), and so yesterday's patch was let loose on the Internet along with a major bug, that only affects the Widescreen display option however. Those of you using it are advised to either turn it off, or wait for the patch's patch... which will come out... someday. [29.03.2006, 17:11]
