PlanetSide - Better Free Than Never // UPDATE

Later (make that much later) than it was orginially announced, Sony Online Entertainment have finally activated the PlanetSide Reserves programme, making way for a free military career in Verant's MMO shooter. This was initally meant to happen on 14 February, however it wasn't until yesterday that the nearly 2 GB demo client finally emerged (download).

As we mentioned before, these free PlanetSide accounts will only be valid for a period of 12 months and will also limit the player's advancement, though not to BR 8, but only BR 6 (Battle Rank 6) - meaning less weapons available than with a paid subscription, among others. If there are still people willing to give it a try, the official PlanetSide Reserves page has a few details and the download link mentioned above, while a more thorough guide has been put together by the PlanetSide Universe fansite.
