2006 FIFA World Cup Germany Announced By... Guess Who?

It's FIFA, it's 2006... hell, it must be EA Sports! Ever obsessed with their exclusive deals and sports licenses, Electronic Arts have announced that next month they'll release the one and only official game of the world cup in Germany, titled 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany (who would've thought). Just as "surprising" is the fact that all the current platforms imaginable will be targeted by this release, from the PC, PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360 and all the way through five more consoles, handheld or otherwise.

The developers from EA Canada have stuffed a whole dozen stadiums from the official circuit, along with some other footy arenas from each qualifying region. This will obviously allow gamers to take any national team (from a total of 127), and lead it to victory starting straight from qualification. The players' animations promise to bring the usual ammount of enhancements and life-like emulation, while the game modes will receive a new "Global Challenge", recreating classic moments from the history of FIFA championships.

The only screenshots revealed so far are taken from the Xbox 360, and I must say they're pretty damn impressive, if you look at them from the kitchen. Just don't get too close, or odd things may come to light...
