First Guild Wars World Championship - And The Winner Is...As the first Guild Wars World Championship came to a conclusion some days ago in Korea, it was time for ArenaNet and NCsoft to officially crown the winning guild - The Last Pride (EvIL), who are enjoying a delightful prize of $50,000 plus bonuses (see picture below). The six finalist guilds were selected from the very best that emerged in America, Europe and Korea after months of preliminary tournaments, and the nationality of the winners is pretty easy to guess (if not, see picture again, but more to the left...).
A detailed battle log has been posted on the official Guild Wars website, following step-by-step the two games from the final waged against War Machine, both of which were won by EvIL - who returned to the throne of champs just a couple of days later, after a local final where they met the regional winning guild in Taiwan.
Next up, a new series of tournaments will begin on March 7, culminating with the Guild Wars Factions Championship in August 2006. Until then, here are some new screenshots from the Factions stand-alone.
