Battlefield 2142 In The (Virtual And Real) Future?

At the beginning of the month, the Sweeds from Digital Illusions (DICE) announced that they had abandoned the development of the PS2 and Xbox versions for a new project, now set for release in 2007 on the Xbox 360 and PSP and thought to be the first in a new series of games. And that may still be the case, however we're certainly going to hear -and play- more of their Battlefield games. This was recently suggested (as if necessary) by a producer of |j|Battlefield 2: Modern Combat|j|, who told Shacknews that DICE is on the brink of a major announcement, leaving just one tiny little oh-so-obvious hint:

"We're about to announce something very big, so stay tuned. One other interviewer asked this and I gave him a hint, so it's only fair that I do the same for you: 3213/3X2. Or said another way: S.R. 4588164."

In case you don't have any pen and paper in handy, let me spell it out for you: 3213/3x2 = sqrt(4588164) = 2142. Gee, I wonder what the Battlefield could that mean!
