| From the very first time it was publicly shown as a tech-demo trailer, the Offset engine stood out as a real jaw-dropper, and is now one of the most advanced next-gen engines (that I know of, anyway). The technology has already caught the attention of several companies, but the first one to announce a licensing agreement with Offset Software is Red 5 Studios - founded by some former World of Warcraft developers from Blizzard. Their debut project is also a massively-multiplayer one, so we can only imagine what will eventually come out of this top-notch combo: a team that helped create the most popular MMORPG out there, and a technology that will allow them (in theory) to crush the barrier between real-time and pre-rendered graphics. And if you still don't know what all the fuss is about, you should certainly take a look over this impressive trailer.
As a sidenote, both websites - Project Offset and Red 5 Studios - have been revamped during these last few days.
