Offset Software's first project is still far from looking like an actual game, and not just a bunch of tech demos put together in order to show off an impressive graphics engine (a
very impressive one, in fact!). At least that's the impression we got from all those Project Offset trailers released so far. However, the devs have some good news for us this weekend! Through an update posted on the game's website, lead artist Travis Stringer announced that they have secured a major publisher for their fantasy first-person shooter:
"We are looking for talented programmers and artists to join our team. We are now backed by a major publisher but will not be disclosing the details just yet. Visit our jobs page for more information on available positions."
Following the link above to their Jobs page, another revelation comes in the form of a Xbox 360 Programmer opening, indicating that an Xbox 360 version of Project Offset may be in the works.
Now, it's true that no hint has been given about the identity of their "major publisher". But this last observertion leads us thinking about Microsoft's upcoming X06 event, which will take place in Barcelona between September 27-28. Could Project Offset be one of Microsoft's announcements reserved for this year's X06? Or is there someone else hiding behind the curtains - such as Activision, EA or even Ubisoft? Feel free to speculate, since at this point everyone's a suspect.
