| Ubisoft Delays Double Agent, Dark Messiah, Resident Evil 4 PC
Reading between the lines of Ubisoft's latest financial report issued this week, we learn that at least three of its games have been delayed once again, leaving the French publisher with no choice but to lower its sales predictions for the following fiscal quarter (July-September). The main culprint is Splinter Cell: Double Agent, as the fourth title in their famed stealth action series will no longer step out of the shadows in September. Instead, the game's release was pushed back until the end of October. And to think that in early 2005 Ubi said it would release Splinter Cell 4 in "Q1 2006"...
Still, Sam Fisher isn't alone in his misfortune. Arkane's Dark Messiah of Might and Magic action game was also delayed until October (mid-October, if it's any confort), while the PC version of Resident Evil 4 no longer has a set release date. No reasons were given for these delays, and by the looks of it they may not even be the last ones for these titles.
For the time being, the company will have to rely solely on the performance of new releases Open Season and the Xbox 360 RPG Enchanted Arms (Em: Enchant Arm), as well as Pirates of the Caribbean: The Legend of Jack Sparrow for the PC and PlayStation 2 - published by Ubisoft in European territories.
