Looks like hack'n'slashes are here to stay. Another sample of mindless clicking will arrive in 2007 from German publisher dtp, who's Anaconda games division is to release a new Action-RPG called Legend: Hand of God. The game is being developed by Master Creating, the same bunch that did last year's Restricted Area -
"a dreadful game" reckons Eurogamer. And who are we to argue!
Oh the other hand, the German PC Games magazine has a much better opinion about Legend: Hand of God. They say
"it's addicting like Diablo, looks nice like Prince of Persia", but allow me to have my doubts... Accoring to yesterday's announcement, US writer Susan O'Connor (responsible for the Gears of War script) is taking care of Legend's story, and some art is being done by Paul Campion (painter for Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings). As for the game itself, here's what Anaconda has to say about it for now:
"Legend: Hand of God gives players a fantasy scenario. They will be helping a young adept by fighting the evil - and will have to stand in loads of action filled battles.
Unique graphic features like the cinematic combat system will make even watching the battles fun: Enemies will be fought depending on their size - so it can happen that Legend's hero jumps on the back of a giant troll to finally finish him. Controlling Legend: Hand of God will stay as easys as players are used to.
Many more unique features, state of the art graphics and great atmosphere and storyline will make Legend: Hand of God a must have not only for fans of Action RPGs."
Leged: Hand of God is due for release in Q2 2007, and the first screenshots are now available in our gallery.
