Guild Wars: Nightfall Invites Players To PvP Event

It's already been hinted that the next Guild Wars chapter will be called Nightfall, and now we have official confirmation from ArenaNet and NCsoft that this is in fact true. Not only that, but they also announced that Guild Wars: Nightfall has already entered the beta testing stage, and players worldwide are invited to participate in an exclusive, first-look player-versus-player (PVP) event, which is expected to take place between July 28-30, 2006.

As with the previous Factions expansion, Nightfall will introduce two new professions: the Dervish, a scythe-wielding holy warrior, and the Paragon, guardian angel of the Elonian people. Both of these are depicted in our newly opened Guild Wars: Nightfall gallery, and both will be playable during the PVP Preview Event later this month.

For interested players, ArenaNet plans to kick off the event on Friday, July 28 at 12:01am PDT, and continue it through Sunday, July 30 at 11:59pm PST. In addition to testing out the new professions and arenas, players will also be able to compete for items that will be exchangeable for a variety of rewards throughout the weekend event. So better keep an eye on GuildWars.com, should we miserably fail at our daily editorial duties when the time comes.
