Generally regarded as a good - if not great - sequel to Phenomic's original SpellForce, this year's SpellForce 2: Shadow Wars was a feast for fans of the "role-playing strategy" genre. But for some of them, not even Shadow Wars' generous single-player campaign was enough. They should therefore be thrilled to hear that JoWooD has announced the first SpellForce 2 add-on, called Dragon Storm.

Though no developer is mentioned in JoWooD's press release, we're assuming that SpellForce 2: Dragon Storm is once again crafted by Phenomic, who also took care of the previous four SpellForce games and expansion. According to Amelie Clement of JoWooD, "this new part of SpellForce, which awakes the most dreaded creatures, will be a very special highlight for the community and will guarantee many hours of game fun", when it launches in Winter (i.e. December) 2006.

"SpellForce 2: Dragon Storm takes players through a fascinating and exciting challenge as they fight for the magical portals, which seem to be the only connection between the shattered islands of Eo. During the search for the font, which could replace the dwindling energy and save the magical portals, the player recovers old runes and amazing traces of the most powerful creatures of the past: dragons...

Experience the ultimate battle when dragons wage a war!"
