The Godfather Shoots For September Release On Xbox 360, PSP

It's been out on the PC, PS2 and Xbox for over three months already, but Microsoft's Xbox 360 - and Sony's PSP for that matter - have yet to see a final version of The Godfather. Both of these were featured in Electronic Arts' "summer showcase" from yesterday, when they announced that The Godfather will be out in September for the Xbox 360 and PSP. Developed by EA Redwood Shores, The Godfather will see gamers carrying out orders, earning respect, rising through the ranks of the Corleone Family and making New York City their own.

"Custom-built for the Xbox 360, players will choose their path in this rough and tough world with enhanced BlackHand combat, enhanced graphics and HDTV support. On their way to the top, players will embark on missions to take down new compounds, take over new venues and contract high-risk hits.

The Godfather Mob Wars is a new experience for the PSP system that will engage gamers in a turf war as you take over territory in the strategic Mob Wars mode unique to the PSP version of the game. Maneuver your mobsters and play the right cards to take control of NYC one territory at a time."

With just a couple of months left until September, there's still not a whole lot of media available for the next-gen version of The Godfather, which leaves us pretty much guessing as to the game's visual quality. Since I doubt the gameplay will be any better.
