War Front: Turning Point Recruits 13,000 New Beta Testers
Digital Reality's gaming history goes back more than a decade ago (when the Hungarian studio was known as Amnesty Design), and although space strategies used to be their specialty, in recent years they shifted focus over to more traditional military strategies. Even so, however, their upcoming title is not your typical WWII game, but more of an "alternate reality" RTS, in which Hitler was assassinated early on in WWII and the German war engine came under control of a new regime, deploying several secret and experimental weapons.
And now, these wicked tools of destruction can be under your command, thanks to publisher CDV's agreement with FilePlanet to open up another 13,000 public beta slots for War Front: Turning Point. You can sign up for the beta here, and once signed up, you will be able to download a multiplayer version of War Front: Turning Point. This newly released version includes the 1 vs. 1 map from the initial closed beta test, and adds an additional 2 vs. 2 player map. The beta version can be played against both human and AI opponents in skirmish mode.
Players that participated in last week's closed beta will be able to continue use of their previous activation code, or input the new code that will be sent once the updated executable is downloaded from FilePlanet.
While waiting for the download, you can browse through our local War Front media section with screenshots and trailers. The final version is expected to ship in September 2006.
